MEGAN PRITCHARD INTERIORS
INNOVATIVE AND ACCESSIBLE DESIGN... NOT YOUR AVERAGE GREENHOUSE
The Crane Garden Centre serves as an optimal business enterprise within the community as it assists in subsidizing living costs for residents, encourages individuals to connect with nature and provides accommodating experiences. The Greenhouses were designed to include and develop people talents and represent community efforts overall. Integrating biophilic design concepts into the community design assists in proving a therapeutic work environment which enables sensory stimulation. This allows individuals to comfortably participate and reduce stress to promote a relaxed physiological well-being.
Utilizing hydraulic table systems throughout the seasonal greenhouse area allows all resident’s to participate in a daily work environment, regardless of their individual abilities or limitations. In addition to the adjustable hydraulic tables, floor guide systems were set in the ground so that the tables run on a track setting to allow flexibility and movement of traditionally stable and heavy tables. Both of these design features allow residents and customers to benefit from easily adjustable settings for optimal ergonomic practices.
